That Masonic
Gathering Brother
Robert G. Sever, WA8DBI
passing of my dad, Gathering member 0043,
went to that house not made with hands
on Friday April 6, 2007. He was a
Master Mason, and belonged to
Lodge of Amity 5, Zanesville, Ohio and Chapter
9 Royal Arch where he was 7th degree since 1965.
My mother and he also were
active in Eastern Star while in Zanesville.
He had a long battle with
Parkinsons and was confined to
Palm Garden of Pinellas Nursing Home in Largo FL
for the past several years.
January this year he was presented by the
Ohio Grandmaster, in a visit to Florida,
an award for dedicated service and
devotion to Freemasonry and most recently received
the Ohio Grand Lodge
Jonathan Heart Service to Country award,
both of which he was very proud of.
He was a WWII vet, member of Tin Can Sailors,
retired Electrical Engineer
and was a licensed PE state of Ohio.
Besides amateur radio, he enjoyed
working with stain glass and gardening.
In his younger years he was active
in Boy Scouting and served in many leadership roles.
Services tentatively are scheduled to be held
in New Philadelphia, Ohio April 12th, Geib Funeral
Home (www.geibfuneral.com).
Brotherly regards,
Dean Sever W8IM
Gathering member #44
MM Lodge 58 Leesburg FL
Our Brother will be missed
My Brethren, the
roll of the workmen
has been called, and one Master Mason
has not answered to his name.
He has laid down the working tools
of the Craft and with them
he has left that mortal part for
which he no longer has use.
His labors here below have taught
him to divest his heart and conscience
of the vices and superfluities of life,
thereby fitting his mind as a living stone
for that spiritual building -- that house
not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Strengthened in his labors here
by faith in God,
and confident of expectation of immortality,
he has sought admission to
the Celestial Lodge above.
Amen
